Demand Supply of IM’s level chess coaches IN INDIA

Demand Supply of IM’s level chess coaches IN INDIA

“The AICF shall pay Rs.10,000/- for GM's and RS.7,000/- or Rs 5000/- for others for a ten day coaching programme. For outstation coaches AICF will reimburse, on production of tickets, third A/c train fare and shall take care of the local hospitality.”

Coach unit = 10 days batch for a group of 10

General ratings statistics for India Jan 1 2008 as per FIDE (World Chess Federation)
Total (inactive inclusive): 3371
Total : 2485
Below statistics is valid for active players only:
Grand Master : 16
Woman Grand Master : 5
International Master : 53
Woman International Master : 12
FIDE Master : 24
Woman FIDE Master number : 9
http://fide.com/ratings/avgtoplist.phtml?country=IND

Rating of 2300 is considered as International Master level and
Rating of 2500 is considered as Grand Master level

India has 100 International Master or higher level players. http://fide.com/ratings/topfed.phtml?ina=1&country=IND

Considering all 100 are ready to coach throughout the year we have 2400 coach units.
( Coach unit = 10 days batch for a group of 10, 2 in one month, 12 month X 100 players of International Master or higher level)

Fifty percent of these are very active players eager to upgrade their rating. These players itself will demand Gm’s Coaching if available at throw away prize.
In reality coach units may not go beyond 150. --- Supply

Like Goa as one chess activity centre, in India there are at least 100 centres.

In Goa there are around 35 Rated players out of which 10 are elderly may not opt for coaching if there is any fee but
25 Rated Players are willing to take IM’s coaching even for the normal fee Rs.2500/- per day.
In addition there are another 60 players who are trying hard to become a rated players will also be ready to pay above fee.

My experience tell me that Goa’s demand is 16 coach units for a year by paying normal fee of 2500 per day.

In India the situation could be as under:
A person takes 2 coach units in a year.
Active Rated Chess players 2500
Active Rated Chess players in a age group below 20 1800
Trying hard to be a Rated player 5000
(5000 + 1800) 6800 group of 10, 680 group twice a year 1360 coach units---Demand.

Use cricket to uplift other sports, Shaharuk Khans SRK

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan has explained that the chance to make money from cricket and channelising it to other sports was the main reason for him to get involved with the Cricket Board-promoted Indian Premier League. This has come in Indian Express and other media.

In respect of chess I would like to highlight some thing.

N Srinivasan President of All India Chess Federation, Treasure of BCCI and Head of India Cement is offering Dhoni to play for 20 days in a year and for three years (around 60 days) Rs 6 Crores that is Rs. 10 lacks per day and same Srinivasan is offering Grandmaster in Chess Rs.1000/- per day. Others chess players only Rs.500/- .
http://www.indianchessfed.org/News/2008/January/natI13Girls/appealtoourplayerscoachingprogramme.asp

Appeal to Our Senior Players / IMS' / WIM's / GM's / WGM's / FM's and coaches

AICF proposes to short list the names of coaches who are interested to coach our players and prepare them for National and International tournaments. Those interested are requested to send a mail to AICF with their Bio-data and achievements in coaching if any. The AICF shall pay Rs.10,000/- for GM's and RS.7,000/- or Rs 5000/- for others for a ten day coaching programme. For outstation coaches AICF will reimburse, on production of tickets, third A/c train fare and shall take care of the local hospitality. Those interested may kindly send your mail immediately.
Thies is real sheet.

In IFFI 2007 Volunteers were offered Rs.750/- per day.

This how the top officials of All India Chess Federation thinks about chess players.

Dronacharya Awardee Chess Coach Shri Raghynandan Gokhale has said in a interview recently appered in Navindtimes that minimum apperiance that a GrandMaster get is Rs.30,000/-.

How one can expect that good coach is goint to apply for coaching appel of AICF.
Please also note that there are only 16 Grandmaster in India and around 60 IM's. As also total 100 chess players including GM and IM in India who has ELO rating of 2300+.

International Centre Goa Promotes Chess as Learning tool

International Centre Goa, Dona Paula (ICG) has also come forward to promote chess as a learning tool. Taleigao Chess Academy Sports Club(TCA) and ICG signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote chess activities for nest five years.
I am pleased inform you the (TCA) and the International Centre Goa (ICG) will organize All Goa Primary School Chess Tournament on 26-27 January 2008 at the premises of ICG at Dona Paula. There are going to be a seminar on Pre Primary and Primary Schools in Goa and Chess as learning tool and many more on these days alsong with 500 childrens playing in chess tournament.

World under- 8 Champion Ivana Furtado, National Junior Girls Champion Bhakti Kulkarni, Goa State Champion 12 year old Anurag Mhamal, and other little masters like the 7 year olds - Harikrishnan Mohanan and Riya Sawant and the 11 year olds - Niraj Saripalli and Cyrus Pereira are some of the names which regularly figure in not only local newspapers but in the National media as well. They are making all Goans proud.

It is necessary that the momentum that has been built up by these youngsters should be sustained and Chess should keep gaining popularity. Not only will this bring further honour to the state, but this will help sharpen the minds of the youngsters, and take them away from the TV, the idiot box that many are glued to all day. This is what Taleigao Chess Academy Sports Club (TCA) has been doing. Incidentally World under- 8 Champion Ivana Furtado got her baptism in chess here.

Taleigao Chess Academy started its activities in 2004. To start with its main thrust was on coaching youngsters. In a short period of time its pupils achieved considerable success. The most notable of course has been World under-8 Champion Ivana Furtado. Others to have achieve laurels have been Gouri Hadkonkar under-9 Goa I No. 3 and India No16, Varshita Reddy under-9 Goa No. 4, Rohan Ahuja under - 9 Goa No. 5. All together 11 chess players of TCA played in National age category tournament this year in Under 7, Under 9 and Under 11 categories.
The reason why we are so keen on promoting chess is that it is being increasingly accepted that chess helps to improve the mental faculties of young children. Without even realizing it, the abilities of children at mathematics and logical thinking, reading comprehension and lateral thinking as well as the ability to concentrate improve dramatically. Value education is being given to children in a quiet way as they learn how to be disciplined and hard working.

International Centre Goa, Dona Paula (ICG) has also come forward to promote chess as a learning tool. TCA and ICG signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote chess activities for nest five years.

Hence TCA and ICG is organizing a All Goa Tournament for primary school students at International Centre Goa, Dona Paula on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January, 2008. Over 500 children are expected to participate in the tournament. Over 240 children participated in our last tournament held in September 2007.

The parents who will accompany their children will get an opportunity to attend and participate in the following:
a) An interactive session with experienced educationists, officials from Sports Authority and Department, and chess federation officials who will interact on how chess can benefit children in different ways.

b) Award winning feature films 'The Knights of the South Bronx' and 'Searching for Bobby Fischer' will be screened for the parents at the International Center's AC auditorium.

c) A book with information about past and present pre primary/ primary school pattern/curriculum, importance of chess in primary school education, importance of sport for growing kids will be released.

We would also give opportunity to other privately run schools to present their Ideas of education at the venue.

The expenses for the tournament are estimated as follows:

1. Prizes for Children Rs. 35,000/-
(Prizes include 20 Original Imported DVD's of Grandmaster Roman Dzindzichashvili costing Rs. 1352/- each, Chess Books and Trophies).
2. Lunch & Refreshments for Participants Rs.70,000/-
3. Printing of Book "Education & Chess". Rs.75, 000/-
4. Printing & Publicity Rs.25,000/-
5. Other Administrative expenses Rs.25,000/-

We will also offer schools an opportunity to put up their stalls which can promote their ideas on education and other services offered by individual schools – both curricular and co-curricular. Schools will also be given an opportunity to showcase their achievements by audio visual means.

We look forward to your whole hearted contribution to promote the game of chess in Goa. Viva Goa! Viva Chess!

Phycology of Indian Mind

Ramashastri was a great legal adviser in 18th century. He had sentence his own King Death Sentenced. Like wise Justice Konde did a tireless service to the Indian legal system by delivering Jugement on 1993 Bombay blast case. He never took a leave for last 10 years from the day he was on this case. He was present on the days even when both his parents expired.

Don Dawood Ibrhim mastermind behind the blast was not tried as he is hiding in Gulf. his relatives include in 12 who were sentenced Death penalty. other 20 were given life inprisenment and 67 some minor punishement.

Highlight of this case was Hollywood Icon Sanjay Dutta. He is serving six years of Jail.

I want put before you is the mentality of the Indian people.
Hollywood prsumes that Sanjay has already suffered a lot. He should have been freed. Sanjay was enjoying the company of all those involved for many years.
He has hidden some explosives and 3 AK56 on their request. The same explosives were used in Bombay Blast were in 250 common man lost live and many were injured.

Sanjay was 33 at that time. He was married having a child. He had left left his cancer driven wife for herself. He is also a drug edict. Most of all he was enjoying his friendship with these all terrorist even after Bombay blast. In no way he helped prosecutors in bringing the truth before the law. ( Had it been, it would have been the highlighting points on his mercy petition).

We all should see that he is tried under TADA if he approach Supreme Court.

Media Hype of Khalanayak

Sanjay Datta was 33 when he accepted Ak56 and some explosive to be hidden. He was very well aware what he is doing. He was enjoying the company of terrorist. There after he has not atall help investigatin officers.. ( otherwise it would have come in mercy petition filed by him). His earlier record as human being is also very bad. He was adrug eddict. He misbehaved with his first wife who was cancer patient. He is with his third wife. God and his 2nd wife only knows whe they were seperated. Bollywood people Sairabanu all had only prases for Sanjay. He should be hanged... as those explosives were used for bombay blast is proved.
